Affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI), Faith Apostolic Church has been part of the Troy community since 1974.
Rev. Marvin Walker is an ordained minister, licensed with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI), headquartered in St. Louis, MO.
Following his graduation from Gateway CollegeGateway College of Evangelism, Rev. Walker served as Youth Pastor at First United Pentecostal Church in Odessa, TX for several years before relocating to Cincinnati, OH. There he served at The Calvary Church for 25 years in a variety of roles including Associate Pastor, School Principal, and Choir Director.
During his time in Cincinnati, he also worked with the General Youth Division of the United Pentecostal Church International to expand and further enhance a youth development ministry called Bible Quizzing as the North American Quiz Master.
Leaving Cincinnati in 1999, he accepted the presidency of Tupelo Children’s Mansion, a home for orphaned and needy children in Tupelo, MS, as well as the pastorate of Life Community Church. He spent two years in Tupelo before accepting the pastorate at Faith Apostolic Church of Troy in Troy, MI.
As pastor of Faith Apostolic Church, Rev. Walker not only ministers locally within metro Detroit, but also travels extensively, speaking at marriage conferences and men's meetings around the world.
Claudette Walker grew up in Tupelo, MS, the daughter of Brother and Sister Raymond Kloepper, who at that time was the superintendent of the Tupelo Children’s Mansion. A graduate of Apostolic Bible Institute (ABI), she assisted in home missions works in both Laramie, WY and Ottawa, IL before her marriage to Marvin Walker.
Together, they have worked as husband-wife ministry team in pastoral work first in Odessa, TX, then for 23 years in Cincinnati, OH. After leaving Cincinnati, Brother Walker was president of the Tupelo Children’s Mansion Ministries for two years where they also pastored Abundant Life Tabernacle. Since 2001, they have been in a pastorate at Faith Apostolic Church of Troy, MI. Sister Walker also assisted Brother Walker in over 20 years of service as North American Quiz Master for the General Youth Division.
Sister Walker has taught extensively with her husband in marriage and family life seminars around the country and overseas. She has also taught extensively in many Ladies’ Ministry conferences both at home and abroad.
